I had a wonderful stay at this hotel. The staff at the front desk were incredibly friendly and helpful, always providing me with the information I needed. The room I stayed in was very comfortable and spacious, with a cozy country style that matched the old Swiss chalet. The location of the hotel was excellent, offering a quiet atmosphere with beautiful views of the mountains and Lake Lucerne. In addition, it was conveniently located just a short walk from the Merlischachen train station and only a two-minute walk to the lake. The breakfast provided at the restaurant across the street was delicious and had a wide variety of options to choose from.
Can't fault the property in any way.

Checked in late at night, the owner has three hotels around, and the reception is one across the street. The parking lot is big, but it's paid, which I think is amazing. The staff is great, the guy at the reception is very good (worked in the hotel - I know). Checked in for a long time, but made an upgrade to a room with its own bathroom (booked with the total), the euro is taken, but as in all Switzerland, it is better to go with the local currency. City tax is taken, not small, but it is not a question of the hotel. Room small, old, chalet in the real sense, all wooden and squeaky) window only one was and went up some stairs. The air conditioning wasn't working, the bathtub wasn't big either. In the morning I advise you to take a walk to the lake.
The air conditioning wasn't working, paid parking, the room was creaking.

I didn't expect much from the hotel, but the hotel was pleased. It's a beautiful, very authentic house. The staff is very kind, we were upgraded to the standard room with a separate shower (we booked with a shared shower), allowed to walk in the park and the main building at no extra charge. And of course the restaurant is something! A chic dinner and a great breakfast.
The room itself. It is clear that this is a super economical option for Switzerland, but still - the furniture is quite old and dead, the stairs to the top - a separate story in general ((((() full sense that he slept with his grandmother in a remote village, it not in a European country with the highest standard of living. I was not comfortable.

Absolutely blown away by the friendly staff who went above and beyond to make our stay incredible. Free room upgrade and helpful information provided by Rachel, Aline, and Celine. Wi-Fi accessible in the comfortable and cozy room. Perfect location with stunning views, just a short walk from the train station. Enjoyed the beach access, sauna, and game room. Excellent breakfast options and aromatic coffee made by the service staff. Would definitely return!

We reserved room in chalet, but get one in the castle - it was very nice. Extremely friendly staff, location on the lake and not far from the city of Lucern, good breakfast, very big parking.

The hotel offers a variety of fun activities like crossbow shooting and catamaran raft building. The cozy chalet bar in the attic is a unique experience. The Biedermeier house dedicated to Queen Astrid is impressive.
Just one small issue, they forgot to roll out the red carpet for me. How dare they!

Good rooms for the price paid. Fantastic old hotel with great atmosphere and authentic Swiss feel. Close to the lake with a small beach for swimming. Really good restaurant - be prepared to pay a lot for food in Switzerland - this is no exception but is at least value for money. Violinist at dinner was amazing! Nice friendly waiter was great - very helpful and good fun. This was one of our best stops on our trip - really memorable. Would definitely recommend it.
Lack of air conditioning...but there was a fan in the room and we kept the windows open so it was ok.

My purpose of travel was to explore Luzern, and Swiss-Chalet Merlischachen made it convenient with its proximity to the railway station. In just 15 minutes, I could reach Luzern by train, although they ran only hourly. The location was splendid, offering beautiful views of Lake Lucerne. The hotel itself was a charming 400-year-old barn converted into a unique lodging experience. The theme was consistent throughout, and the 5-minute walk to the lake was delightful. The reception may be different, but the staff at the nearby hotel were helpful and welcoming. The rooms had a low ceiling, which added to the authentic Swiss feel. Despite the shared shower and toilet, they were well-maintained and clean. The breakfast at the restaurant was worth the cost, with a great selection that set us up for the day. The staff went above and beyond to assist guests with any request.
Would recommend this hotel.
